Taking Inspiration from a Constantly Challenging Attitude
Changing the Future with IoT
tsumug Inc. is a startup company founded in December 2015. With the realization of the sharing economy as its ideal, the company develops services centered on hardware.
The smart lock we are currently working on is a system that connects keys to the internet to sense aspects of our daily lives and provide feedback. One of our key features is that it can communicate independently without using a smartphone, making it easy to use even for people without technical literacy. It makes daily opening and closing more convenient, lets you know when your child has come home even while you are at work, and allows you to check on the condition of parents living far away. The basic mechanism of locks themselves has not changed significantly for hundreds of years. However, by combining it with IoT, new value is created, and people’s lives and relationships with one another change significantly.
The technology is already in place.
What value we will create there. That is the mission of us startups.
Grateful for Warm Support
“DMM.make AKIBA” is a coworking space where manufacturing-focused startups gather. Musashi Paint provides us with various forms of support as a sponsor here.
When we asked to apply coating to the first prototype we ever made, they gladly accepted. At that time, they carefully taught us the basics of paint one by one, and even shared practical know-how such as “this is how you should make requests to paint companies going forward.”
For an inexperienced company like ours, this kind of warm support from an established company is incredibly appreciated, and we are truly grateful. At the same time, the corporate attitude of Musashi Paint itself—continuing to take on new challenges—serves as a living example for us.
To me, President Fukui is someone I admire both as a business leader and as a woman. While cherishing this connection, we will grow into a company that can contribute to society. The prototype from that time has become a lifelong treasure for me.
