Careers FAQs
[About the Company]
We have a deeply rooted culture of valuing both our customers and our employees. This stems from our belief that “employees who do not take pride in their company cannot perform great work.” Our team members get along well and work with vitality. At Musashi Paint, we value a “Let’s try!” attitude over immediate results. We provide numerous opportunities to those who show initiative and a strong desire to take on new challenges.
(1) Technical Expertise
To meet customer requests such as “I want this color for this product” or “I want to create this specific brand image,” we work closely with them to create unique, one-of-a-kind colors. Our strength also lies in functional coatings, such as wear resistance, anti-bacterial properties, and tactile textures. We are constantly improving existing products and developing new ones.
(2) Responsiveness and flexibility
Our philosophy is “Meeting 100% of customer expectations and providing 120% satisfaction.” Our sales and technical teams proactively visit customer sites to conduct detailed consultations and on-site adjustments.
While a stock listing is a means of raising funds from the capital markets, we do not consider it necessary at this time.
As an unlisted company, we prioritize returning value to our customers and employees over providing short-term returns to shareholders. We also believe that remaining private enables us to operate with a mid- to long-term perspective and to foster a corporate culture that continuously takes on new challenges across a wide range of fields.
Human resource development is precisely our top priority. While our sales have grown from 2 billion yen in 1996 to 20 billion yen today, this growth is largely attributable to the nature of our business aligning with the needs of the times, as well as our ability to respond to our customers’ requirements at each stage.
We believe that we cannot surpass our past achievements with our existing mindset and capabilities alone. Therefore, we recognize human resource development as our most critical challenge and are committed to strengthening it.
Our company is certified under ISO 14001, the Environmental Management System standard, and our environmental policy is publicly available on our website. Through this framework, we are engaged company-wide in initiatives to reduce our environmental impact, including the development of environmentally friendly products, waste reduction, and energy conservation.
In addition, we have obtained certifications in compliance with our customers’ environmental standards.

[About the Work]
We primarily develop, manufacture, and sell coatings for plastics.
These coatings are used in a wide range of applications, from mobile devices, computers, and home appliances to gaming consoles and automotive equipment.
Many of the products you see in electronics retail stores are finished with our coatings.
Technical positions are primarily responsible for color formulation.
We gather our customers’ requirements and desired image, and develop new colors accordingly.
We may also visit our customers’ manufacturing sites to support them on-site, including adjusting colors during the coating process.
Development positions are primarily responsible for the functional aspects of coatings.
Our customers have a wide range of requests, often asking what can be achieved with coatings.
For example, customers may request coatings that are resistant to scratches and fingerprints, or coatings that provide a soft, peach-like texture.
We carry out continuous research and testing to develop coatings with specialized functionalities that meet these needs.
For us as a manufacturer, our development capabilities are our lifeline, making the selection of research themes critically important.
Research themes are established based on factors such as market conditions, technological trends, and the activities of competitors both in Japan and overseas, with the aim of translating customer needs into tangible solutions.
We will be happy to provide further details on our research themes and track record during your visit.
Yes, of course.
We have sales offices, research centers, and production facilities in 10 countries worldwide, and active exchanges take place between these locations and our sites in Japan.
There are many opportunities to work overseas, with some employees traveling abroad as early as their first year and others being assigned to overseas positions within two to three years of joining the company.
In addition to language skills, we encourage employees to develop product knowledge and business capabilities, and to actively take on the challenge of working overseas.
[About Talent Development]
During the first year after joining the company, we implement a structured training program for new employees to help them gain a comprehensive understanding of coating operations and acquire practical skills.
Specifically, the program consists of OJT-based job rotation, mainly through hands-on training in the production department. It also includes classroom training to help employees gain an understanding of coatings, the industry, and the company.
The hands-on training in the production environment is designed to deepen understanding of the fundamentals of manufacturing, as well as basic knowledge of our team members and our products, by engaging in actual production processes.
Assignments are determined after the one-year training program, following an interview.
Around February, after completing all departmental training, we hold interviews to understand each employee’s preferences.
Based on this, the company makes the final decision, taking each employee’s aptitude into consideration.
As a general policy, we actively implement planned cross-functional job rotations to foster talent with broad perspectives capable of contributing to the company’s sustainable growth.
We also provide opportunities to discuss career development, as well as preferences for transfers and work locations, during biannual goal-setting interviews.
Marking our 60th anniversary as a key milestone, we have revised and implemented our HR system based on the following three themes, with the aim of achieving further growth and realizing “MUSASHI of the World.”
(1) Embodying the MUSASHI-ism
Integrating MUSASHI’s philosophy into our organizational systems to build an even more resilient foundation.
(2) Foster a culture that encourages greater challenges.
Foster a culture that does not fear failure and consistently provides opportunities to take on new challenges.
(3) Promote human resource development through communication.
Maintain close communication as a guiding principle for achieving high performance.
[About Selection Process]
We value individuals with unique strengths and a positive mindset.
This is the most important factor in effective communication.
We are looking for individuals who value genuine, heart-to-heart connections and possess true communication skills.
We recommend obtaining a Class A Hazardous Materials Handler certification and an Organic Solvent Work Supervisor certification before joining the company.
As these certifications are also required for promotion, we recommend obtaining them early so that you can focus on your work after joining the company.
