I am Ichimura from And Design. This year marks the 10th year since I founded a design office together with friends. Before that, I worked as an in-house product designer at a consumer electronics manufacturer.

Our relationship with Musashi Paint began around that time. Even back then, I had the impression that they consistently delivered remarkably stable work. If there is a paint we want, they will start from creating the color itself. They also coordinate with mock-up vendors, making the process extremely smooth. With their extensive track record, we can confidently entrust them all the way through to commercialization. There is no other paint company that works with us in this way.

Musashi Paint also has in-house designers who translate subtle, sensory ideas that are difficult to convey unless you are a fellow creator into terms engineers can understand. This allows subtle nuances to be conveyed, which we greatly appreciate. For us designers, they are an extremely trustworthy presence.

Our Meticulously Crafted In-House Products

We have just announced a new iPhone case from our original brand “MYNUS,” which we plan, manufacture, and sell in-house. The concept is to make the iPhone itself look even more beautiful.

By adopting Musashi Paint’s fingerprint-resistant UV coating, we were able to achieve a high-quality appearance and a pleasant tactile feel. The distinctive matte texture is a result of Musashi Paint’s technology. In fact, ever since we were shown this paint just after it was developed a few years ago, we had been thinking about what we could do using it. During the development of this case, this paint was the first thing that came to mind.

Because it is an in-house development, we can overcome cost and various constraints and pour all of our attention to detail into it. When the product turned out exactly as we had envisioned, I was truly delighted and excited. The response exceeded our expectations, with the product maintaining the top ranking at mobile phone case shops and many messages of delight reaching us.
