Riho Miyahara, Sales Department

“You can experience a sense of accomplishment that makes you forget all the hardships you went through! Musashi Paint Holdings Co., Ltd. is seeking colleagues to join us.”

What kind of work do you do at Musashi Paint?

I am responsible for paint proposals, color development, defect response, and handling various requests from customers for automobile manufacturers (design), parts manufacturers, trading companies, and coating manufacturers.

Among these, for automobile manufacturers (design), I am involved in the design of upcoming vehicle models and creating colors that are unique in the world. Communication with my supervisor, seniors, and other departments is smooth, creating a very comfortable work environment.

When did you feel growth after joining the company?

Customer requests cover a wide range of aspects, including color, functionality, and performance.

As the contact point, I must thoroughly understand the purpose of each request, otherwise I cannot coordinate smoothly when passing requests to other departments. There are times when it feels embarrassing to ask questions if I don’t understand something, but by repeating the process of “asking until I fully understand and making sure, I grasp it myself,” I have become able to work more efficiently.

What do you enjoy about working at Musashi Paint?

The automobiles I am in charge of take a long time—two to three years—from color development, performance verification, to mass production evaluation before they appear on the road.

Therefore, I feel a strong attachment to each project, and when the car is finally on the road, I experience a sense of accomplishment that makes me forget all the hardships I went through. Also, because we work as a team that includes other departments, even when difficulties arise, everyone supports each other and works in a united way. This team spirit makes work very enjoyable!

Why did you choose Musashi Paint?

Originally, I worked at a car dealership after graduating, and I wanted to engage in work related to car design. By chance, I joined Musashi Paint. At that time, I had also received an offer from another company and was about 80% sure I would join them, but somehow the HR department at Musashi contacted me very enthusiastically, saying, “Please come to Musashi!” I still remember that very vividly.

Message to readers

When I was a senior in university, I didn’t know what I wanted to do, so I started job hunting thinking, “As long as I get a job, it’s fine!”

I received a job offer early and spent more than six months leisurely with free time. However, somehow, I started questioning myself: “Is this the right company? Can I do what I really want?” I withdrew from my offer in November, restarted job hunting in December, and received another offer in January—a whirlwind of job-hunting experience! (laughs) Even if you don’t have a clear goal for the future, by interacting with various companies, you can naturally develop curiosity and excitement, thinking, “I want to try this!”
