Michiyo Yamazaki, Quality Assurance Department
You can enjoy your work as much as your own interests allow!
Musashi Paint Holdings Co., Ltd. is seeking colleagues to join us.
What kind of work do you do at Musashi Paint?
One of Musashi Paint’s main customers is paint manufacturers.
I mainly investigate and report defects that occur when the paint we ship is applied.
Every day, I wrestle with tiny defects smaller than 100 μm, using microscopes and other analytical instruments to identify causes and propose countermeasures.
Our analysis team is small, consisting of five members at the time of the interview, so we share information about daily tasks and support each other in our work. When we encounter a defect, we have never seen before, even if it is outside, one’s own responsibilities, everyone sometimes looks at the microscope together to verify it for learning purposes.
When did you feel growth after joining the company?
When there are investigation reports or complaints, there are times I need to visit the customer site.
At those times, I conduct tests and verifications that I normally would not perform in my daily work to explain things to the customer, which allows me to gain a deeper understanding of paints.
Since I have the opportunity to speak directly with customers, I can experience things that are different from my usual work.
By responding in ways that minimize customer impact, I have gained the ability to immediately implement the PDCA cycle of QC methods. Complaints are a crisis, but they also become opportunities for personal growth.
When do you feel the joy of working at Musashi Paint?

At Musashi Paint, it is very gratifying that I can pursue questions or interests without being restricted by rigid rules.
Even when conducting individual experiments to verify something, supervisors do not stop me. I have been able to increase my knowledge by seeing and experiencing things firsthand.
Additionally, even as a mother of two children, I am assigned responsibilities that are meaningful and rewarding. Recently, we have seen more women actively working while raising children. Sometimes I need to take sudden leave due to my children being ill. Even so, thanks to everyone’s understanding and cooperation, I am able to work joyfully.
Why did you choose Musashi Paint?

I originally majored in chemistry, and I was very interested in handling chemical substances such as paint and creating various things with colors. Also, during the factory tour and recruitment interview, I felt a balance of mild tension and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, which perfectly matched the environment in which I wanted to work. This led me to decide to join the company.
